Frequently Asked Questions
In 2015, the City of Pasadena updated the General Plan including the Land Use and Mobility Elements. The Land Use Element is a guide and establishes broad policies that identify the overall pattern of future development, determining when, where, and what type of new growth and investment may occur. The Mobility Element provides a vision of an integrated multimodal transportation system that offers choices and accessibility for everyone living and working in the City. This current effort will update Pasadena’s Specific Plans and Zoning Code to be consistent with the updated General Plan.
The existing Specific Plans and the Zoning Code predate the General Plan Land Use Element which was updated in 2015. As part of this update, the City will be soliciting input on the specific rules that will regulate the size, shape, use, and placement of buildings, and much more, within Pasadena’s Specific Plan areas.
